Every April and October, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds a General Conference where leaders address the global church. It’s 8-10 hours of rich doctrinal instruction and dozens of invitations to improve our spiritual lives and come unto Christ. It’s wonderful and it’s a LOT!
At General Conference Applied, we aim to make General Conference actionable by studying each address deeply and finding each inspired invitation. If you’ve ever felt great during conference, but then afterward wondered, “now what?”, you’re in the right place! You’ll find links below where we’ve aggregated all of the invitations we’ve found and discussed in the podcast, organized by conference date.
Two verses in the book of Acts sum up what we are attempting to accomplish with General Conference Applied. In Acts 2:37 and Acts 9:6, individuals asked an important question: what should I do? General Conference addresses make us feel good, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but we believe inspired Prophets, Apostles, Seers, and Revelators are inviting us to do something. Thus, in General Conference Applied, we will attempt to answer two questions:
- First, what is the speaker inviting me to do?
- Second, how might I consider taking action?
We have come closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ by learning from and taking action on General Conference invitations and invite you to join us by subscribing to our podcast and newsletter, following us on social media, and by contacting us to share your own experiences!
