- Act on Elder Rasband’s and Elder Renlund’s messages about using our talents. Consider my talents and those I aspire to obtain. Prayerfully think about how I might use them to accomplish God’s work. Sincerely promise God that I’ll do so, make goals and plans for how I’ll do so, and then observe whether He helps me improve my abilities faster than on my own.

- I will follow President Eyring’s pattern. I will identify a question for which I need divine guidance. I will kneel down and ask my Heavenly Father in prayer, wait until an answer comes, and write down what He tells me to do. Throughout the process, I will make sure to focus on Jesus Christ.
What is the speaker inviting me to do, and how might I consider taking action?

- Be confident that you can approach God right now
- Be confident Heavenly Father hears you
- Be confident that He understands your needs better than you do
- Be confident that He loves you more than you can comprehend
- Be confident that He sends angels to be with you and with those you love
- Be confident that He yearns to help you reach your highest potential
- “When I speak of having confidence before God, I am referring to having confidence in approaching God right now! I am referring to praying with confidence that Heavenly Father hears us, that He understands our needs better than we do. I am referring to having confidence that He loves us more than we can comprehend, that He sends angels to be with us and with those we love. I am referring to having confidence that He yearns to help each of us reach our highest potential.” From “Confidence in the Presence of God, April 2025”

- YouTube – First, a comment on YouTube. All 15 apostles/1st Presidency now have YouTube channels. The initial videos are mostly repackaged excerpts from past talks, but are done very well with good editing, music, and additional photos and videos that complement the words in meaningful ways.
- Excerpts from “Peacemakers Needed,” 2023. Definitely worth reviewing in this societal moment.
- “In situations that are highly charged and filled with contention, I invite you to remember Jesus Christ. Pray to have the courage and wisdom to say or do what He would. As we follow the Prince of Peace, we will become His peacemakers. At this point you may be thinking that this message would really help someone you know. Perhaps you are hoping that it will help him or her to be nicer to you. I hope it will! But I also hope that you will look deeply into your heart to see if there are shards of pride or jealousy that prevent you from becoming a peacemaker. If you are serious about helping to gather Israel and about building relationships that will last throughout the eternities, now is the time to lay aside bitterness. Now is the time to cease insisting that it is your way or no way. Now is the time to stop doing things that make others walk on eggshells for fear of upsetting you. Now is the time to bury your weapons of war. If your verbal arsenal is filled with insults and accusations, now is the time to put them away. You will arise as a spiritually strong man or woman of Christ. The temple can help us in our quest. There we are endowed with God’s power, giving us the ability to overcome Satan, the instigator of all contention. Cast him out of your relationships!”

- “In order to stand blameless before God at the last day, we must also serve Him with all our heart and mind.”
- Ponder this statement from Elder Russell M. Nelson’s November 22, 1988, BYU Devotional that was entitled “Thanks for the Covenant” and then journal about how you are serving God with your mind: “Learn wisdom so that you can render significant service of worth to your fellowmen. How frustrating it would be to have desire only and little or no ability to help people. Prepare your minds and your hands so that you can qualify to serve people and bless their lives. Gain competence that others do not have. That takes work—it takes effort—but it is worth the price.”

- Begin to practice in your family what you hope to spread throughout the church and world. This will be preparation for living as faithful, eternal, covenant families forever.
- “The family unit is not only fundamental to society and to the Church, but to our hope for eternal life. We begin to practice in the family, the smaller unit, what will spread to the Church and to the society in which we live in this world, and what then will be what we practice in families bound together forever by covenants and faithfulness.”

- “Answers from an Apostle: What Does It Mean to Teach by the Spirit?” (Adapted from a 1996 Seminar to New Mission Leaders)
- Do the things that will let you have experiences with the Holy Ghost throughout your entire life.
- When you teach others the gospel, your goal should be to help them feel the spirit and want it so much that they go back again and again to be taught by the Spirit over their lifetimes.
- “As you teach and testify, keep it simple. The Holy Ghost doesn’t need a lot of help—flowery language and even touching stories….The Holy Ghost is a testifier of truth. So if you speak the truth clearly and simply, then it is most likely that the Holy Ghost can testify to the heart of the person you are speaking to.”
- Offer this to the children of our Heavenly Father: If they can just know the truth and obey, they may have ‘peace in this [life] and eternal life in the world to come.”
- “When I teach, I don’t think of what I can do to feel the Spirit, nor even what others can do to feel the Spirit. My goal is for people to feel it and to want it so much that they go back again and again and are taught by the Spirit over their lifetimes. It is not just me teaching you or even just giving you a feeling that you may have the Holy Spirit for this moment, nor is it just an emotion. It is an experience with the Holy Ghost. Then I want you to do the things that would let you have that experience over a lifetime.”
- “My goal is that you might be impelled to want to do something to be obedient, because I know that as you do, the Atonement of Jesus Christ will work in your life and you will find the mighty change occurring and you will become the person you want to be.”

- “Now, perhaps some may feel that their relationship with their child is less than ideal. That’s where the Savior’s power comes in. You and I can trust Him and rely on Him as a Healer in every regard possible. He heals the sick, and He heals relationships. He multiplies bread and fish, and He can multiply the love and the joy in our homes.”

- “Until the full picture is revealed, don’t get overwhelmed by the large, difficult task of life. Remember that big things are made up of small things. If you commit to doing the small and simple things God asks you to do, and you do them as diligently as you can, big things will follow, I guarantee.”
- “God has prepared eternal blessings beyond your imagination. To help you receive them, He gave you commandments, sacred covenants, inspired prophetic counsel, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and moral agency. This is more than enough to lead you to mortal happiness and eternal joy. Beyond that, don’t despair if you make some decisions that are less than perfect. That’s how we learn. That’s part of the adventure.”
- “Your life will have ups and downs. But if you are faithful to Jesus Christ, see His atoning sacrifice as a gift, a gift of love and repentance as the right way to accept it, you can be assured of happy endings. You may not see it until much later, but you will look back and know that the Lord never abandoned you, even when He let you make a lot of decisions for yourself.”
- “The dots that make up our experiences in life can appear unconnected and chaotic at times. We cannot see any order to them. We can’t imagine that they have a purpose at all. However, when you look at your life from the eternal perspective of the gospel of Jesus Christ, you begin to see how the dots connect to the grand design. And as you strive to trust God and follow His Son, even Jesus Christ, one day you will see the finished product and you will know that the Master Artist had a plan for those random dots all along. You will see that He was preparing you for opportunities and possibilities far more glorious than you ever could have imagined or accomplished on your own.”

Our Heavenly Father, ‘the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort,’ will bless us, lift us, and strengthen us ‘in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God” (2 Corinthians 1:3–4).'”

- “We are seeing amazing things happen across the world. The number of missions and missionaries is increasing. The number of convert baptisms is increasing. The number of temples is increasing. While the growth of the Church is both impressive and important, we must not forget how essential ‘the still small voice’ is in guiding us to the elect and to the decisions we make in our lives; it’s the Lord’s hand that does this. We have to be willing to open our mouths. We have to be making every effort we can. But it is the Lord’s work. It is the Lord who hastens His work. He guides His Church.”

- “Our goals in this life need to be directed toward living righteous and gospel lives and striving to have families.” With sensitivity to those who haven’t yet had an opportunity to create their own families, the rest of us must stop making other things more important than family. Quit postponing marriage and having children until you reach some arbitrary financial or worldly status.
- Mosiah 2:41 teaches us that by living the commandments, no blessings will be withheld in the eternities. In the gospel, it doesn’t matter where we’re born, or who our parents are, or what educational opportunities we have – we want to have as many as we can – but the gospel of Jesus Christ is for everybody.
- Have a sense of the atonement. Live on the covenant path. Strive to achieve the Lord’s purposes here on Earth. Have goals for yourself and goals to help your families and others for whom you’re responsible to achieve all that they can. Lift them. Bless them. Help them. By doing these things, you’ll have inner peace.

- “Your Search for Truth”
- “The internet and handheld devices provide access to almost endless information that you can find almost immediately. The Lord is pleased when you make wise use of these resources, but in your search for truth remember to look to God, who knows all things (see Doctrine and Covenants 88:41). From Him, you can find eternal truth, which is knowledge of “things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come” (Doctrine and Covenants 93:24).
- Understand and embrace the eternal truth that God is your Heavenly Father and that He knows and loves you perfectly.
- “Among the truths God has given you, one of the most important is that He is your Heavenly Father. He knows and loves you perfectly. Understanding and embracing this eternal truth gave you direction and blessings in your pre-earth life and will continue to do so now and forever.”
- Follow the Savior’s example and obey His commandments. He will lead and guide you to the glorious presence of our Father in Heaven.

- “Remember what the Lord said in the Sermon on the Mount: ‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.’ … So for me, it’s a matter of keeping the first priority first. Keeping that most important in your life and doing whatever it takes to put that as the first priority. And that would include certainly prayer, consistent and frequent prayer. And studying the scriptures. Serving in the kingdom of God on the earth.”
- Organize your priorities. If, for example, you look at social media first thing in the morning, set a goal not to look at social media until you’ve prayed and read your scriptures. You might also consider setting an accountability contract (as discussed in James Clear’s book “Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones“) to be held accountable for developing these “first priority” habits.
- “I find in my own life that it’s important to pray about your day. I begin my day praying about what I know is coming. I pray about what I am anticipating. And I pray for each event, each meeting, each thing that I know is coming, and ask for the Lord’s help, guidance, and that I can represent Him honorably and in the best way.”
- Test this process. One day this week, don’t have a plan for the day. Then, the next day, follow Elder Christofferson’s process. At the end of this two day test, journal about your experience.

- “In the house of the Lord, we prepare ourselves for the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. Today, the Farmington New Mexico Temple was dedicated for this purpose. The sacred house of the Lord testifies more than any other place of the immortality of the soul and that life continues beyond the veil. The Lord continually reminds us that this earth is not our permanent home. As the world slides down a slippery slope, the Lord’s kingdom strengthens on every continent, in every nation, in every family and individual who is willing to believe in Jesus Christ and take upon himself or herself the covenants of His holy ordinances. This is my promise to you: As you have faith in Him and do your very best, He will lift you from your burdens, your difficulties, and your weaknesses and prepare you for His return and the eternal life that awaits you. Jesus Christ is preparing to come and we are preparing to receive Him. In His holy house, we will make ourselves ready.”
